Elerinmo returns smile to rainstorm victims faces

Even though also affected by rainstorm which raged in his domain on October 31, 2021, the Elerinmo of Erinmo, Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi has risen to the incident and provided needed relieves to victims whose property were destroyed.

The Tabloid.net gathered that Oba Ajayi had after the incident raised alarm and called on government and kindhearted to assist his town to overcome pains inflicted on his subjects by the calamity which, he said, occurred at 5 pm on the fateful Sunday.

Aside the Elerinmo Palace, it was learnt, other places like Erinmo Civic Centre, four churches, Elerinmo’s private residence, over 52 houses, 21 shops had their roofs destroyed, including electricity poles.

However, Oba Ajayi, supported by some indigenes at home and in the diaspora, today came to the rescue of the victims as he personally supervised distribution of items like roofing sheets and roofing nails right inside his compound.

The royal father said his prompt response was a way to cushion effects of the damage done to property as well as psyche of the victims, some of whom, he revealed, were aged and literally immobile, saying he was looking forward to benevolent Nigerians to complement him in order to completely wipe tears from eyes of the people.

“I want to thank my people and my friends at home and abroad for identifying with this course and raising some fund spent to make these items available to serve at least as palliative to these unfortunate people who have since the day of the incident lost their comfort,” he said.

It was also learnt that officials from Osun State Government visited Erinmo today and assessed level of destruction, after which they returned to Osogbo.

Oba Ajayi confirmed the visit of the officials and expressed hope that government would soon respond to his Save-Our-Soul call which, according to him, he had made through a release issued by the Elerinmo-In-Council.

“We are positive that something would come from Osogbo. We actually had to do something first to cushion the suffering of these people, and that is what we have done so far.  I am particularly happy that we have a listening governor in person of His Excellency Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola,” he noted.
