The royal father said his prompt response was a way to cushion effects of the damage done to property as well as psyche of the victims, some of whom, he revealed, were aged and literally immobile, saying he was looking forward to benevolent Nigerians to complement him in order to completely wipe tears from eyes of the people.

“I want to thank my people and my friends at home and abroad for identifying with this course and raising some fund spent to make these items available to serve at least as palliative to these unfortunate people who have since the day of the incident lost their comfort,” he said.

Oba Ajayi confirmed the visit of the officials and expressed hope that government would soon respond to his Save-Our-Soul call which, according to him, he had made through a release issued by the Elerinmo-In-Council.

“We are positive that something would come from Osogbo. We actually had to do something first to cushion the suffering of these people, and that is what we have done so far.  I am particularly happy that we have a listening governor in person of His Excellency Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola,” he noted.
