Except the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, National Geospartial Intelligence Agency and most likely a few US newsrooms, the entire world was in the dark of the tragedy waiting to befall sovereignty of Venezuela, a oil rich Latin American nation sitting on 303 barrels worth of crude oil and ranked the largest of the global reserves.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration also reveals that Venezuela possesses heavy, sour crude oil for certain products made in the refining process including diesel, asphalt, fuels for factories and other equipment. Its oil is relatively cheap.
TheTabloid.net gathered that though the US military had planned and reharsed the invasion for months before it finally struck on January 3, ostensibly setting aside Article 2 (1&7) of the UN Charter which recognises sovereignty of all member states, the engagement, codenamed Operation Absolute Resolve, was safely kept under a wrap.
But when the zero hour eventually clocked in the early hours of Friday, 150 Aircrafts were launched on Venezuela from 20 different bases on land and sea across the Western Hemisphere with utmost precision and in “close coordination to get an interdiction effect for a single purpose into downtown Caracas with elements of tactical surprise.”
The US joint Chiefs General Dan Caine, in his breakdown of the operation, revealed, “At 10:46 p.m. Eastern Time then, President Donald J. Trump ordered the United States military to move forward with the mission. He said to us ‘Good luck and Godspeed’. And those words were transmitted to the entire joint force.
“As the night approaches, the helicopters took off with the extraction force, which involved law enforcement officers. They began their flight into Venezuela at 100 feet above the water. As they approached Venezuela shores, the United States began laying different effects provided by Spacecom, Cybercom and other members of the interagency to create a pathway.
“Overhead, those forces were protected by aircraft from the United States Marines, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force and the United States National Guard. The fighter jets included F-22s, F-35s, F-18s, EA-18s, E-2s, B-1 bombers and other supporting aircraft, with numerous remotely piloted drones.
“As the force got close to Caracas, the joint air component began to dismantle and disable the air defense systems in Venezuela, employing weapons to ensure the safe passage of the helicopters into the target area.
“We arrived at Maduro’s compound at 1:01 a.m Eastern Time, or 2:01 a.m Caracas local time, and the apprehension force descended into Maduro’s compound, moved with speed, precision and discipline towards their objective and isolated the area to ensure the safety and security of the ground force, while apprehending the indicted persons.
“On arrival into the target area, the helicopters came under fire, and they replied with fire, overwhelming force coming from different locations for sef defense. One of our aircraft was hit but remained flyable. All our aircraft came home and that attacked aircraft remained flyable during the rest of the mission.
“Maduro and his wife then gave up and were handcuffed, taken into custody by the Justice Department with no loss to life to U.S. Forces.
“After securing the indicted persons, the force began to prep for departure. Helicopters were called in to exfiltrate the extraction force, while fighter aircraft and remotely piloted aircraft provided overhead coverage and suppressive fire. There were multiple self-defense engagements as the force began to withdraw out of Venezuela.
“The force successfully exfiltrated and returned to their afloat launch bases, and the force was over the water at 3:29a.m. Eastern Time with indicted persons on board, and both Maduro and his wife were embarked aboard the USS Iwo Jima”.
It was learnt that President Nicolas Maduro and wife, Cilia Adela Flores were detained in Manhattan underground detention centre, Brooklyn, New York. The official justification for their fate, according to Secretary of the US Department of War, Pete Hegset, is Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Terrorism, allegedly leading to hundreds of American lives lost for importing Fentanyl, Cocaine Drugs into the US.
However, the highlighted allegations against the embattled Venezuela President appear to be a mere smokescreen in critical views of political and economic analysts, many of whom declared that they had since seen through President Trump’s actions and body language over Venezuela’s crude oil because, according to them, the US’s economy has always been powered by what is called the Petrodollar.
In 2019, a book–The Plot to overthrow Venezuela: How the US is orchestrating a coup for oil–was published, giving an insight into the tragedy being cooked to overrun Venezuela.
The alleged crime committed was that Venezuela had shown a clear sign of hurting the US economic interest with its transaction with China, a known American rival in international economic system, selling her oil in Chinese Yuan rather than dollar.
This act, the US regards as a spite and calculated plot not only to undermine her but also spit at the US’s claim of owning Venezuela oil on the premise that American companies developed it.
Connected to this, it was further learnt, was that Venezuela, in 2018, had announced it would “free itself from the dollar,” starting to accept yuan, euros, rubles for oil.
This screaming reference has heightened suspicion that the US is on imperialism and colonialism mission to suppress Venezuela’s sovereignty.
Trump’s reactions so far have been undisguised and unapologetic of his intention and actual motive behind the sensational military action.
In a statement credited to him, the President declared his pleasure announcing that the interim authorities in Venezuela, now headed by Delcy Rodriguez, would be turning over between 30 and 50 millions barrels of high quality, sanctioned oil to the US.
Trump added, “This oil will be sold at its market price, and that money will be controlled by me as President of the United States of America to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!
“I have asked Energy Secretary Chris Wright to execute this plan, immediately. It will be taken by storage ships and brought directly to unloading docks in the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Earlier, Trump had reportedly boasted that he would officially run the Vnezuela government in his personal capacity as the world’s peace maker for a long transition from the White House.
“I will take good care of the oil in Venezuela. We are all gonna be rich. Nothing anyone gonna do about it,” he stated unambigously.
