After his painstaking research, Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi, has come up with a strategy to confront insecurity, saying he would engage the grassroots, especially in the porous Oke-Ogun which shares boundary with the Northern Nigeria and Eastern part of Benin Republic.
Featuring on the “Good morning show” of the Arise tv on Tuesday, the governorship hopeful said localising the insecurity would achieve desired results beyond Oyo State.
The former commissioner also said that more attention would be given to the Amotekun to strengthen it through recruitment of the locals who understand both demography and geography of their terrain better than outsiders.
He also said his government would work with other local and recognised security organisations to ensure adequate security for the people of the state.
The APM candidate also noted that there were many people that are not accounted for and without proper data that are living in the affected communities.
He said if elected, his government would ensure proper identification and collection of data of such people and their daily activities to give room for monitoring.
Adekanmbi also said government would collaborate with the necessary stakeholders like the traditional institution, religious bodies among others to properly secure the lives and property of the people.
