Famous tourism twins married

They dreamt it; they insisted and stuck to the dream, their shared dream. On June 20, 2026, before a cheerful audience, they actualised their dream. Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye finally wedded and married to two spinsters who also shared one womb at a time, Taiwo and Kehinde Adeniran.

Taiwo married Taiwo and Kehinde married Kehinde. They are now celebrated couples in the news, locally and globally. The journey of a decade of courtship ended inside the massive International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan, host of the grand reception of their wedding rated a special ceremony because of its unique outlook.

Earlier, on June 19, engagement had held at the RAD Events Hall at Akobo axis complemented the following morning by church service at the Bishop Akinyele Memorial Anglican Church, Iwo Road, where officials performed the holy wedlock and the couples smilingly signing the dotted lines in a relaxed atmosphere spiced with songs and praise to God for their fruitful courtship, starting from a casual introduction in the campus of the University of Ibadan, their alma mater.

TheTabloid.net gathered that a lecturer in the acclaimed Nigeria’s premier university facilitated the first meeting of the twins brothers and twins sisters with the best of intention of seeing them tying the knot ultimately. However, the journey was said to have suffered a few hiccups but fate prevailed. The twins reconnected, never looked back again and remained inseparable till the zero hour when each exchanged the marital vow before families and friends.

The couples’ arrival into the filled hall practically charmed the waiting guests, especially with a long bridal train comprising men resplendent in flowing agbada all dancing exuberantly as though they were in a keen contest. Their female partners too, also elegantly dressed, were not left out in the frenzy of dance which kept almost all guests on their feet until the couples took their seat for the formal commencement of the reception.

Chairman of the reception, Honourable Akeem Adeyemi, a member of the House of Representatives for Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/ Oyo West Federal Constituency, was represented by Alhaji Fatai Akindele whose opening remark was brief but direct and instructive to the attentive couples and guests, including Oyo State Commissioner of Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Mogaji Gbolagade Akere, the eldest daughter of the immediate past Alaafin of Oyo, Arewa Folasade Adeyemi and a host of other important personalities from and outside Oyo State.

Each couple’s cutting of cake was respectively conducted by the duo of an ace Ibadan-based On Air Personality, Otunba Kola Olootu and Managing Director of the Infogem Limited, Otunba Ayo Olumoko, both of whom felicitated the twins, prayed and shared with them generous words of admonition on how to successfully navigate their new terrain and build harmonious matrimonial homes.

Olootu particularly expressed his deep love for the Oguntoye twins whom he described as hardworking and inspiring, revealing his long wish to also give birth to at least a set of twins to compensate his strong bond with them.

“I love them so much to the extent that I ought to be at another important function at opposite the UCH but I am impelled to be here because of my love for the twins. I said to myself that nothing should prevent me from witnessing this their historic day. I pray to God to bless them with fruit of marriage,” he prayed.

Conspicously present in the hall of reception were different pairs of twins who graced the wedding and demonstrated their appreciation to the Oguntoye Twins, who are widely known as Africa’s most popular twins and architects cum promoters of the annual Igbo-Ora Twins Festival where twins are gathered to celebrate and exhibit what make them uncommon in the society.

Guests were treated to cultural performance while the Adegbodu Twins, a gospel musical band, just recovering from the grief of sudden loss of Taiwo Adegbodu a few months ago, sparkled when the compere of the ceremony invited the couples to take the dance floor.

The Oguntoyes did not disappoint in expressing their joy through infectious dance which drew guests out of their seats and appreciated them with Naira notes of different denominations.

A long time foster sister to the Oguntoyes, Arewa Adeyemi attested that Taiwo and Kehinde are not only close to her, they also were very close to her late father in his lifetime, saying because of them, the Alaafin would always attend the Twins Festival in Igboora.

She described the wedding as extraordinary, delightful and unique in a set of twins tying the knot with another set of twins from same family. “This momentous occasion is truly a privilege to be a part of. I extend my heartfelt wishes for a blissful marriage and the gift of twins. Congratulations, my dear Ejire,” she enthused.

Former Assistant Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Prince Fatai Adiyeloja also emphasised the uniqueness of the wedding and described it as a talk-of-the-town marriage ceremony, revealing how he had since been drenched with questions over the two-in-one wedding.

He recalled that a professional colleague pointedly queried him “as Kabiyesi, a frontline advocate of sanctity of Yoruba culture and tradition on why I subscribe to marriage of same family and acceptability of the idea of the twins marrying from the same family, obviously alluding to my position as a prince of the Source and , if God so will a king in the nearest future.”

Adiyeloja replied, “For me, it is not one man picking on two sisters from the same family, which some individuals have done in the past it is a case of two consenting families and two consenting twins getting married to each other. This does not in any way constitute an abomination.

“The two set of twins we are told are from noble backgrounds and very well brought up . The male are very good friends of mine doing well in their chosen field and promoting our culture and tradition. So what is wrong in them doing it a most uncommon way. Let me seize this opportunity to once again wish the married couples conjugal bliss and fruitfulness on all fronts.”

Also, to Secretary of the South West Group of Online Publishers (SWEGOP), who is a close ally to the grooms, Mr Remi Oladoye, the wedding was truly unique because each married their namesake in what he said is rare and remarkable in this part of the world.

“I had been encouraging them to settle down and get married. I am delighted that they finally did, and I was privileged to witness the beautiful occasion. I pray that Almighty God blesses their homes with love, peace, happiness, and the fruits of marriage,” he prayed.

Wife of former Super Eagles left winger, Dr Felix Owolabi-Akinloye, Mrs Bukola Owolabi-Akinloye was also in attendance at the ceremony, after which she remarked: “It was a great honour for me to witness the unique wedding ceremony of the Oguntoye Twins, I wish them God’s guidance and protection all the days of their lives.”

After the final curtain had been drawn on the ceremony which stretched the spouses, in terms of preparation, the couples expressed their gratitude to all who identified with them through support, prayers attendance and celebration of their historic moments.

“From our families, friends, colleagues, church members, professional associates, community leaders, and well-wishers, your love and support made our wedding a truly memorable and successful celebration.

“We are deeply honoured by the overwhelming show of love and sincerely apologise for any shortcomings or inconveniences experienced during the events.

“Thank you for being part of our beautiful love story and for creating memories that will last a lifetime. May God Almighty bless and reward each and every one of you abundantly. With love and gratitude,” they chorused.
