Blogger, Ashekun’s war with MFM Olukoya linked to securing asylum for family

For over five years, a blogger and former member of Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM), Mrs Funke Ashekun, has claimed she was a victim of religious persecution.

Her social media platforms were filled with emotional narratives of fear, oppression and intimidation suffered together with her family in Nigeria as a member of MFM church, accusing her former General Overseer, Dr D. K. Olukoya apparently to provoke outrage.

But fesh facts have picked a hole in her claims, revealing she was using the claims to secure Asylum in the US having presented herself as one fleeing danger because of religious persecution.

It was learnt that she hadn’t been able to provide credible evidence to support claims she had made for years rather the US Appeal Court ordered her  to Pay $300,000 law suit filed against her for continuous defamation and online propaganda which unfortunately she has been making in her bid to build asylum narrative rather than presenting objective truth.

“It is now beginning to dawn on so many who have been following her carefully crafted narratives on her podcast for years that one of the many reasons she has remained relentless in her efforts in backing out from her continuous claims of persecution is because of the asylum she has been seeking from the US Government,” a source said.

Till date, she is alleged to have continued to recruit former members of the church to tell lies against Olukoya as obtained in an audio recording which recently leaked online and connected to her.

Members of the church continue to wonder how one whom Olukoya financed her wedding, provided  free accommodation for several years with her family, gave two cars (she and husband) , placed children on scholarship, got privileged salary and also carted away from the church over N3million, would suddenly become his enemy.

Members also wonder why Asheku never presented evidence of physical threats, legal complaint, verifiable documents beyond social media posts and emotional commentary.
