Yet another rite

….Oba Akamo clocks 18 on throne

On March 12, 2022, Itori, headquarters of Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State will play host to crème-de-la-crème of the society in honour of the Olu of Itori, Oba AbdulFatai Akorede Akamo.

The affable traditional ruler will clock 18 years on the throne on the said date at a gathering to be held inside the King’s Court, Itori.

A release, issued by the Olu Itori Media Unit, announced, “We are glad to inform you that, His Royal Majesty,  Oba (Dr.) Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo is Eighteen years(18 years) on the throne as the Olu of Itori Egbaland.

“This year’s celebration is slated for the 12th of March, 2022 at the King’s Court, Itori. As partner in progress, you are cordially invited to this joyous moment with Kabiyesi.  We shall also look forward to your usual support to make this day a success.

“We shall be glad if you shall join us in prayers as we wish kabiyesi long life, peaceful reign and a joyous 18th coronation Anniversary. We are grateful to you for sharing in this wonderful moment with us.”

Speaking further on the event, Oba Akamo said the occasion was one of his ways to appreciate God’s support over him, his household and entire Itori town in the outgone year, affirming his commitment to setting a day aside every year to share such moment with friends and his subjects.

“It is not about flaunting anything in this state of our country; rather it is about thanking God for how far he has taken us. In the past one year, many have gone, though we can’t afford to mock them but we must show gratitude to God for sparing our life,” he said.
