Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Publisher of the newscoven.com, Mr Dapo Falade as a Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation.
Until he started the newscoven.com, a digital newspaper based in Ibadan, Falade had worked at the Tribune titles from 2004; he was on politics desk and correspondent in Ekiti State, Abuja and Port-Harcourt. He resigned as Deputy Editor in 2020.
He is Vice-chairman, the South-West Guild of Online Publishers (SWEGOP). He is also Secretary of the New Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council. In addition, Falade is a member of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP). He has featured on different radio and television programmes, especially on political analysis.
Also apppointed Pastor Akin Alamu, as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council; Mr. Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing as well as a Board Member, Oyo State Housing Corporation; Mr. Sakariya Mohammed Taofik, Special Adviser on Rural Development.
Others included Mr. Yinka Oladoyinbo, Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation; Ms. Ronke Giwa‑Onafuwa, Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation; Hon. Seun Adelore, Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Matters; Hon. Gbenga Adewusi (former Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council), Executive Assistant, Sports Commission;
Mr. Ogundele Quadri, Special Assistant on Urban Development;
Elder Olawale Olugbenga, JP, Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism;
Mr. Ibrahim Abayomi, Executive Assistant, Works.
