I have met incredible women; women who inspire me every day; women who have impacted my life in beautiful ways.
They are the women in my family, women at work, women in school, and even the women we pass on the streets every day.
When I think about it, I realize how many women around us quietly shape our lives without always being recognized.
The women in my family are the first people that come to mind. They are the foundation of many homes and the quiet strength behind many successes.
Through them, I have seen resilience, patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love. They carry responsibilities with grace and continue to show up for the people they love, even when life is not easy. From them, many of us learn what strength truly looks like.
Beyond the home, there are also women we encounter at work and in school who inspire us in different ways. These women are hardworking, focused, and determined to create better opportunities for themselves and for the people around them.
They push through challenges, balance multiple responsibilities, and continue to pursue their goals with courage and determination. Sometimes their efforts go unnoticed, but their dedication is powerful.
Even the women we see on the streets deserve to be celebrated. The woman selling food by the roadside under the hot sun. The woman managing a small shop and greeting customers with a smile. The mother holding her child while still trying to earn a living. The young girl walking to school with dreams in her eyes.
Everyone of these women carries a story of strength, sacrifice, hope, and perseverance.
International Women’s Day reminds us to pause and acknowledge these stories. It is a day to appreciate the countless ways women contribute to families, communities, and society as a whole.
It is also a reminder that women continue to break barriers, challenge expectations, and redefine what is possible.
But celebrating women should not only happen once a year. The appreciation, respect, and support that women deserve should be present every day.
When we recognize the value of women around us, we also encourage future generations of girls to believe in themselves and in their potential.
Today, I celebrate every woman. The strong ones and the gentle ones. The women who lead boldly and the women who support quietly; the dreamers, the fighters, the caregivers, and the change makers. Each woman carries a unique story that deserves to be seen and appreciated.
I appreciate every woman. I celebrate every woman, including my dear mother through whose womb I arrived here.
