Olowu-Kuta pats Buratai on the back at retirement

The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Ahmed Adekunle Oyelude has declared that the immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai added more value to the military before his exit on Tuesday, thereby congratulating him for the good end of his career.

Oba Oyelude also said that the retired General was a reference point for excellent service delivery worthy of emulation, recalling his exploits in war against insurgency in the North-Eastern Nigeria where the dreaded Boko Haram used to disrupt peace in the region.

“In the face of serious security challenges posed by Boko Haram and other terror groups in different parts of the country, you stood firmly and fought gallantly to preserve the peace, unity and territorial integrity of the country. Your selfless service and dedication to the execution of government’s national security policy will always be appreciated,” he said.

The Olowu also expressed his gratitude to General Buratai for his response to the Kuta-Ede bridge which Nigerian Army constructed and commissioned in October 2020, declaring that people of his town would never forget him and his tenure.

“I must say that the response of General Buratai to the bridge was novel in community service. I am assuring you that the current and future generations of Kuta indigenes will always cherish this contribution. I am on this note wishing you well in your future endeavor. I am also appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for the confidence he reposed in the General to contribute his own quota to the war against criminality in the country. I believe same confidence would be extended to the new service chiefs,” he stated.
