Untold facts about Ayinde Barrister’s widow’s death in UK

Members of late fuji music legend, Dr Sikiru Ayinde Balogun (Barrister) family home and in the diaspora are wrapped in grief over the untimely death of one of them, Mrs Tayo Balogun, a UK-based widow of their patriach.

TheTabloid.net gathered that the deceased voluntarily gave up her job and fully supervised Barrister’s post-surgery treatment and recovery in London before his passing on December 16, 2010.

Popularly known as Iya Dan in reference to her only child for Barrister, Danjuma Balogun born in 1981, she was said to have breathed her last at 4 pm at the Hammersmith hospital, Du cane road
W2, London.

It was learnt that she had been on admission in the facility over a yet-to-be-disclosed ailment, during which she enjoyed support of friends and associates who are said to have consistently taken turn to visit, observe and encourage her.

It was also learnt that she was recuperating and hoping to attend her hubby’s 15th remembrance event put together by the family at the Fuji Chamber, Isolo, Lagos State.

“I was told that she had even bought her ticket but God knows better. She was also looking forward to her 70th birthday next year. But, again, God knows best, a source told our correspondent.

Loss of her son, Danjuma in 2023 was said to have hit her psyche but she shook it off and took care of the grandchild her son left behind. Despite the fact that she was a christain, she was fond of carrying the child to observe jummat in accordance to the wish of her late son.

Before we went to press on Friday, there was no indication that she would be buried soon. Another source hinted that burial would be next year, according to her to allow for proper preparation.

“This is necessary because Mama Dan deserves a befitting funeral as a loving woman who did not go out to show off her status as wife of a famous musician,” another source told our correspondent.

Different clubs of Barrister fans, under the aegis of the BarryFest, have condoned with the family and prayed for repose of her soul on the ground of her acclaimed demonstration of love to fans of her husband that she met in her lifetime.

Secretary-General of the body, Agba Akin Ademola Adesingbin, in a release he signed, said fans received the news with disbelief and expressed their condolences to the Baloguns at home and abroad.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, and may the entire family find almighty Allah’s comfort at this most difficult time. May departed soul of Mama Dan be rest in eternal peace,” he prayed.
