The Anti-human trafficking and Child Labour unit of the Ogun State Command’s criminal investigation and intelligence department, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, is currently investigating a 70-year-old, Hunsu Sunday for allegedly impregnating his 15-year-old granddaughter.
Sunday was exposed by his estranged granddaughter, who could no longer suffer in silence and revealed the secret to her aunt. Shocked, the aunt raced to the Ado-Odo Divisional Police Headquarters and reported the matter, after which a team went after the suspect and brought him to book.
The Tabloid.net gathered that Sunday had owned up to regular sexual abuse of his granddaughter who was living with him but claimed ignorance of her pregnancy.
Having ascertained the substance of the matter, the Divisional Police Officer of the division, Michael Arowojehun, a superintendent of police, transferred it to the state command.
The Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun was said to have also directed the investigating police officer to charge the suspect to court after the ongoing investigation is rounded off.
