Father and mother of Nigeria’s hip-hop wizard, Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun famously known as Wizkid, Alhaji Muniru Balogun and Mrs Jane Balogun were among a group of guests who turned up at the naming of the latest grand-daughter of the late fuji musician, Dr Sikiru Ayinde Balogun (Barrister).
The get-together held in Pedro, Bariga, Lagos State, was hosted by wife of Barrister, Mrs Yetunde Balogun whose US-based Lawyer son, Mr Femi Balogun, gave birth to the little girl named Zainab Ayinke Ololade Olatokunbo Balogun in his base.
Also in attendance was the younger brother to Barrister, Alhaji Nurudeen Balogun who was joined by another wife of Barrister, Mrs Aderayo Balogun.
Alfas from Barrister’s Fuji Chamber, Isolo, had earlier performed the naming in accordance to Islamic culture during which they named the baby Zainab.
Other dignitaries included Alhaji and Alhaja Lateef Okenla, Alhaji and Alhaja Rasak Moruf, Alhaji and Alhaja Tolani Owolabi, Hajia Omobolanle Dabiri, Chief Tunde Busari and some proprietress of schools in Lagos State.
Mrs Balogun appreciated her guests with whom she heartily snapped pictures from table to table after which she took to dance floor where varieties of her husband’s musical tracks were played by a standing DJ.
“I can’t thank my guests who came to honour me today enough. I actually didn’t plan for a big gathering because of the short time. But what I see today amazes me and teaches me a lesson to always be good to family, friends and associates. I thank everyone for taking their time to attend this naming of my granddaughter. We shall have reasons to witness more of this occasion,” she prayed.
