When female journalist launched monthly magazine

Months of demanding preparations came to a fulfillment end on August 22, 2021, the day a Lagos-based famed journalist cum broadcaster, Laide Adebayo Gold, hosted crème-de-la-crème of society as she unveiled Global Quest magazine.

It was a public presentation which drew journalists, broadcasters and other invited guests to the expansive hall of Odi-Olowo LCDA, Ilupeju, Lagos State.

The host also used the occasion to honour some personalities with awards of excellence while Queen Amudalat Aweni Oniwaka, Ajijobata, Oyama Azeez, Omorilewa,Olukoso of Africa and others thrilled audience with their respective performance.

Chief Fakunle Oyesanya, who went home with an award of promoting Culture’ and African tradition, on behalf of Adaci Nigeria, said he came from America to grace the eventful occasion, and urged public to partner with the publisher in her sustained efforts to promote African cultural heritage.

Gold, a former editor of some Yoruba newspapers, said Global Quest Magazine came to propagate African culture beyond her shores, noting that the magazine was a monthly publication.

Global Quest Magazine is my modest contribution to media development and indeed Yoruba cultural renaissance. I felt that we cannot all fold our arms watching our treasure being washed away by western influences.

“And I am, God willing, determined to ensure the magazine serves purpose for which it is set up. I thank all our guests and awardees for their belief in us; we promise to meet their expectations, in terms of content and consistency,” she assured.
