Man found with human skulls

  • His business with human parts is the major question which an investigating officer is asking one Yesiru Salisu, 55, currently detained at the State Investigation and Intelligence Department of Ogun State Police Command, Eleweeran, Abeokuta, the state capital

But all he had so far confessed was his vocation in feasting on corpses at a Christian cemetery in Ijebu-Ode in conspiracy with one Lekan Bakare whose whereabouts is also being investigated.

Luck betrayed Salisu, a resident of No 7 Odenusi Street Ijebu Igbo on Monday when four human skulls, two dry human hands and three jaws were allegedly found in his possession after a complaint had been lodged at Ago Iwoye Divisional Police Headquarters.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, a deputy superintendent of police, stated that the suspect “was seen with a bag suspected to contain stolen property, and when he was challenged, he dropped the bag and ran into the bush.”

Oyeyemi added that the Divisional Police Officer of Ago Iwoye Division, Paul Omiwole, a chief superintendent of police, swiftly led his detectives to the scene where they opened the bag and discovered dry human parts.

“Consequently, the bush he ran into was properly combed and the suspect was subsequently apprehended. The Commissioner of Police Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered investigation and directed that the fleeing accomplice be brought to justice,” he said.
