Secretary of the Cadet ASP Course 2001/2002 Anniversary Committee, Olabisi Okuwobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, has emphasised the ongoing reform in the Nigeria Police Force headed by Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
At the 20th anniversary of the police officers held in Lagos recently, Okuwobi referenced the raging war against the undesirable officers and men, saying reformation is reflection of the leadership’s resolve to throw out the black sheep in the Force.
“And that is what we have in the leadership of our IG now. He is sacrificing everything to make sure the police are people friendly. He has been trying to build people’s confidence in police again and that is why he has been seriously dealing with the erred policemen as we can all see,” she noted.
The former Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo, Lagos, Division, urged public to collaborate with the police in the exercise, hence the theme of the anniversary Walk With The Police.
“Everybody should walk with us so that we can have a peaceful society. This set, I mean ASP Course 21 is a unique one among other policemen in Nigeria.
“You can attest to it that every police officer from this set is hardworking as many of us have carved a niche for ourselves in the course if discharge our duties with both national and international awards and community recognition,”she said.
Highlights of the anniversary included lectures, endurance walk from Police College, Ikeja through Oba Ladejobi Street to Joel Ogunnaike, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way and back to the college.
The Tabloid.net gathered that 45 members of the 2001/2002 Course could not make it to the 20th anniversary. They had died.
