What did diamond jubilee mean to you 40 years ago?

Actually, 40 years ago I wasn’t thinking about the next 40 years that much, my attention was  focused then on the immediate future, going to school, getting a degree, hanging out with friends, travelling for sport meetings, getting a good job after school and eventually getting married.

Did you see yourself clocking the age?

Honestly, I think I did. I saw from scriptures that God has a Covenant of 120 years with man (Genesis 6:3). I also saw from scriptures that Moses lives for 120 years (Deutronomy 34:7)  and was still very  strong at that age. So, 60 years is just half of the journey. So, by the Grace and mercy of God, I desire to live and fulfill those two scriptures. I see me living to 120 years.

How was the feeling the exact day you clocked it?

Sincerely, I was so happy and joyful to attain that age since I know it is half of my journey here on the earth. I am most grateful to God for making it happen, I have lost many friends, colleagues, relations who did not attain that age. I see it as a privilege to start a new level with knowledge and wisdom.
