For killing his girlfriend gospel musician to die by hanging

In January, Timileyin Ajayi, a gospel musician based in Nasarawa State, claimed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, cheated on him through his sudden discovery in her phone.

Anger filled his heart and head, then, he concluded that the lady deserved a maximum punishment. He took the law into his hand and murdered the Kogi State-born lady, then serving in the Federal Capital Territory.

After his dastardly act, Ajayi was caught with a polythene bag containing the dismembered body parts of his girlfriend at a place known as Orozo, a border area between Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory. He was rounded up and led the police. During interrogation, he confessed to the killing of his girlfriend and explained why he had to end her life in that circumstance.

A comprehensive investigation completed and prosecution began at
a High Court in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital where he has finally been sentenced to death by hanging.

On Thursday, Justice Simon Aboki declared that Ajayi was found guilty of the crime and deserved no more mercy. He must die in accordance with Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.

TheTabloid.net gathered that contrary to his claim that the deceased was his girlfriend for about a year, the bereaved family disowned him, saying they knew next to nothing about him.
