Eng Ponnle was service personified, says Orangun Oke-Ila

In his touching, valedictory words to the late industrialist, Engineer Tunde Ponnle who passed away on December 14, 2025, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin joined a flock of distinguished guests in Ada, Ponnle’s hometown at reception held on the field of the Ada Commercial Grammar School, after his burial last weekend.

The grand occasion saw dignitaries from all walks of life coming together in honour of the founder of the famous MicCom Golf and Resort, Ada, an acclaimed philantrophist whose life was built on service and more service until he breathed his last at age 85.

In education, enterpreneurhip, community development and other areas, Ponnle’s imprint was conspicous and verifiable. Osun State Government and the Osun State University particularly mourned him for his invaluable contributions to the institution.

After the funeral, Oba Abolarin remarked lamentably that Ada’s soil had just received a treasure in Ponnle whom, he said, had left behind a legacy of development that would endure for many years to come.

The Orangun wrote, “As attendees from across Nigeria paid respects, one thing echoed: development was his creed, electrical gadgets, cables , wires and community projects were his canvas.

“Chief Ponnle’s rural touch transformed communities. As Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” He found himself in service . A hardworking child brings pride. His children carry his blueprint.

“As attendees celebrated his life, his impact on Ada and beyond remains . May his labor’s fruits inspire us. Proverbs 10:7 says, “The memory of the righteous is a blessing.” May Prince Ponnle’s memory bless Ada, Osun State and Nigeria.”
