Okada riders caught with 3 human skulls

The Nigeria Police stop-and-search operations may have been an object of public criticism due to corrupt practices allegedly perpetrated by law enforcement agents on the highways.

The operations, however, are achieving target results at some Commands, one of which is Ogun State under Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, a pragmatic PhD holder officer.

Ogunlowo operatives recently had a breakthrough in their vigilance on the road when they rounded up two men caught with three human skulls in Ijebu area of the state.

According to Public Relations Officer of the Command, Omolola Odutola, a Chief Superintendent of Police, on Monday, 11th August 2025, at about 1400hrs, a team of Mobile Police Officers from 71 PMF Awa Ijebu was conducting a routine stop-and-search operation along the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.”

The PPRO said further: “During the exercise, officers intercepted one Kadir Owolabi ‘m’, who was riding a motorcycle. A search of his luggage led to the shocking discovery of three human skulls.

“Preliminary investigation subsequently led to the arrest of another suspect, Jamiu Yisa ‘m’, aged 53, behind Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.”

She said the CP Lanre had directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case for discreet investigations aimed at getting to the root of the crime and those connected with it either within or outside the state.

“The Ogun State Police Command reiterates its commitment to decisive action against crime and urges residents to cooperate with Ogun State Command. He assured members of the public of trust, confidentiality and identity protection,” she promised.
