NBA appoints ex-Oyo AG as LG monitoring committee chair

President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has appointed a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Oyo State, Mr Adebayo Mutalubi Ojo, SAN as chairman of the Local Governments Monitoring Committee.

TheTabloid.net gathered that the appointment is one of the 32nd president of the NBA acts after he had taken the oath of office last month.

Osigwe was said to have set up the committe with a mandate to monitoring compliance with the Supreme Court judgment on Local Government autonomy.

To serve alongside Ojo in the committee, according to the president, is Mr. Augustine Nwabueze Eseagu whom he named the Secretary

Since he had assumed the topmost office of the largest Bar in Africa, Osigwe has won for his cabinent more confidence of members of the interest body with his steady drive of his vision to reposition it as a Bar of integrity.
