Gov Makinde’s attention to tourism excites me-Alado

The Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oyo State, Oba (Revd) Olugbile Ademola Folakanmi is both delighted and appreciative of the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer. Seyi Makinde over, what he called, his commitment to tourism development, regarded as a right step to enhance the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

While addressing his chiefs and members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 2021 World Tourism Day celebration hosted by his town today, Oba Folakanmi declared that the governor was leading a purposeful administration required to take Oyo State to a higher height, especially his attention to Ado-Awaye.

“This is a clear indication that Governor Makinde is seriously interested in developing Iyake Suspended Lake, the only natural suspended lake in the whole world. If the suspended lake is developed to international standard, the lake can make Oyo State the richest in Nigeria,” he noted.

The Alado also called on his people to cooperate with and show love to government officials as well as invited guests to the occasion in order make it a huge success.

In his response, head of kingmakers, Chief David Akintayo, assured Oba Folakanmi of the continuous support of chiefs for all programmes and also promised all visitors of an eventful experience during their stay.

TheTabloid.net gathered that expected at the celebration include the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi; Governor Makinde, the special guest of honour; Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi, the guest speaker; while Alhaji. Ahmed Raji (SAN) is the chairman of occasion.

Secretary of the LOC, Alhaji Kunle Kareem confirmed that the Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Muftau Abilawon is the chief host, adding that Dr. Oludare Akande would be the chief launcher of a book authored by Oba Folakanmi.

“Highlights of the event include conferment of Excellence Award on Engr. Seyi Makinde and other notable personalities like Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, High Chief Adebayo Akande, Engr. Chief Dotun Sanusi, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola and others,” he stated.
