In his usual mien, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi expressed his infectious joy at the opening of De Royale Premium Inn, a multi-million naira investment sited in his domain on Sunday.
Shortly after he had commissioned the leisure haven, Oba Akanbi lavished prayers on the Chief Executive Officer of the hotel, Prince Micky Adegoke, whom he described as a patriot and lover of Iwo development.
“Micky is an example of what I always say about development. When he had options available to him, he decided to bring this investment back home to reduce unemployment rate and improve lives of my people.
“I am imploring other sons and daughters of Iwo at home and in diaspora to come and also invest here; there is nothing to worry about. I am assuring you that your investment is safe, and shall be protected,” he said.
The Oluwo added that his call was not restricted to only Iwo indigenes, assuring other investors of a conducive business environment in Iwo.
“God is doing His best on my land; that is why it is becoming more attractive to educational and social institutions. I shall continue on my stride to ensure Iwo get to my dream place in Yorubaland, Nigeria and beyond,” he declared.
Aside other traditional rulers in attendance, a UK-based music promoter, who is also Iwo indigene, Alhaji Ademola Otolowo, graced the occasion, which was spiced up by performance of a top fuji musician, Abass Akande Obesere.
