The whole town is excited over today’s judgement–Iyalode Eruwa

The Iyalode of Eruwa, Chief Elizabeth Daramola has expressed the joy of her people, following today’s judgement in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, which sentenced Dr Raheem Adedoyin to death by hanging.

The Osun State High Court found Adedoyin guilty of the murder of an Eruwa promising son, Mr Timothy Adegoke, who was killed in November 2021 inside Adedoyin’s Hilton Hotels in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, also sentenced to death two staff of Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde.

The Iyalode said news of the much anticipated judgement changed the mood in the town for good, despite the loss of their son, Adegoke.

“Today’s judgment on Adedoyin and others is well appreciated by the people of Eruwa and Ibarapa in general. The people are happy for the well delivered judgment. The town is interested in the matter. The people of Eruwa have been praying for justice since the judgement date was given,” she disclosed.

Daramola, thus, commended the judiciary for its insistence in thorough and transparent investigation which, according to her, uncovered all facts of the matter that could have been hidden and destroyed.

She said,  “We give kudos to the Chief Justice and others involved in the case for not compromising and for sending a right signal to the world that there is hope in our judiciary in Nigeria. We are really excited, even though we know we can’t have our son back. Getting this justice will make his soul to rest peacefully now.”
