Starting from August 3, 2025 when their US-based elder sister, Alhaja Aminat Yusuf celebrated her 70th birthday at Festac Town to August 9, 2025 when their daughter, Moyosola tied the nuptial knot with her hubby, Folasore, Alhaji Rasaq Moruf and Alhaja Biola Moruf were wholly engrossed, and scarcely had time for any other activity outside detailed preparations for the wedding of the two Chartered Accountants.
TheTabloid.net gathered that the preparations were so demanding with the bride’s mother connecting one market with another in search of best items befitting the occasion and guests the family was expecting from home and in the diaspora.
In the end of the efforts, which lasted some months, the lively couple, their lovely children as well as their extended family members played host to creme-de-la-creme of society and treated them to sumptous lunch and the Imole Musical Band that animated the roomy Hillcrest Event Centre on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos State, venue of the wedding that paraded key features of royal ceremony.
The wedlock was an occasion that saw old friends and associates reunited under an ambience of camaraderie and sparkling smiles with colour pink dominating the roof, the wall and entire exquisite hall.
Although guests from Ogun, Oyo, Osun and other Southwest states had it rough and endured headache on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway due to traffic gridlock at the Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG) Camp section, a disappointment that almost cost them the party, Moruf’s family made it up for them in their show of understanding and hospitality that stretched until dusk when curtain was drawn officially on the glamorous occasion.
Sign of a breathtaking wedding emerged naturally on Friday during the engagement where the Morufs hosted expectant groom’s parents, Mr Amos Taiwo-Idowu and Mrs Olabisi Taiwo-Idowu and their family members, all of whom struck a renewed relationship, jointly admonished and collectively offered prayers for the new couple to experience a hitch-free transition into a successful matrimonial life.
The bride’s father, Moruf, who, in his heavy ofi agbada and abeti aja cap, danced like a seasoned dancer performing before a panel of judges at the Big Brother Naija reality show, affirmed that his over three decades marriage to the bride’s mother, another good dancer, was built on prayer.
The Ibadan-born humbly admitted that his modest family had received God’s generous blessings to have got the bride, her siblings and seen them through their childhood years and attendant challenges till that historic hour of the awe-inspiring wedding.
“We, as a family, believe in efficacy of prayer. So, we have spoken with her and her husband just as other family members have done too on need to always pray for each other to grow bigger in their new life. I believe our prayers shall be granted by the Almighty Allah. On behalf of the two families, I appreciate all our guests from both side for honouring us with their presence and gifts,” he noted.
Present in honour of the Morufs included Chairman of the occasion who is the Executive Secretary of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), Mr Olufemi Adewole.
Adewole counselled the couple to exercise patience with each other, when and where it is necessary, to fully relish allures of the holy matrimony, adding that only God is perfect, hence the need for them not to seek fault of each other or encourage third party’s intervention in their private affairs.
Social clubs, to which the couple’s parents belong, were also present in good number, including old students associations, Kaffy Heart Clinic, Caring Souls, Allahu Wahid Sisters, Central Mosque Mile 2, YOA Foundation, Egbe Onifaaji Renaissance and fans of late Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
A Canada-based elder sister to the bride, Omoyeni Rasaq was practically overwhelmed by the large turn out of invited guests and their comportment while the splashy reception lasted.
“Still in awe of my sister’s wedding; it was pure magic from start to finish! It’s a day filled with love, beauty, and unforgettable moments. Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness as perfect as their big day,” she prayed.

It was indeed a colorful and well planed occasion, the caliber of people that honoured the wedding also speaks volume about the bride’s father and mother as socialites. The food was both local and international, assorted drinks, the life band the souvenir, all made sense. May Almighty Allah bless their union with fruitfulness, blessings with good health and long life with prosperity.

It was the joining together in holy matrimony of the children of my friends. The Groom’s mum, Olabisi Sulaiman, is my childhood friend and sister, while the bride’s father, Rasaq Moruf is my friend and brother. So, I played a very happy dual role on both sides.
It is an act joy to see our kids growing up and flourishing, starting their lives afresh on a clean slate. I pray for a long, fruitful and love filled life for the latest couple.

The wedding of Alhaji Rasaq Moruf’s daughter was nothing short of a high-class spectacle, radiating elegance and tradition in perfect harmony. The engagement ceremony dazzled in an all-round white theme, executed with a refined touch of style that set the tone for the day. The BBVF President, Mr. Adeshina journeyed from Abuja and witnessed the wedding, a masterclass in blending cultural pride with modern elegance.

It was well organised. From the security to branding to guests entertainment and choice of music. There is no prefential treatment, in term of how catering servers attended to guests as against what I do witness in most occasions. To me, the greatest highlight of that event was the dancing spree between couple and parents (bride and her father and groom and his mum). That aspect is truly nostalgic and memorable.
