He was at it three days ago when he physically assaulted a dispatch rider who was on his daily job on the road at Tapa Street, Lagos Island, beaten him to a stupor to the consternation of helpless residents.

TheTabloid.net gathered that Shamelon claimed the unfortunate dispatch rider obstructed his way, hence his violent action that was said to have caused the victim a serious injury.

It was learnt that residents and concerned citizens had recorded the video of the incident and raised an alarm, accusing Shamelon and his gang of regularly violating right of people, a reaction said to have also triggered further reactions.

The Lagos State Police Command is said to have sent law enforcement operatives after Shamelon, arrested him, and detained him.

Similarly, Sheigo, who has lately demonstrated his zero tolerance for injustice, is said to have, through a statement, disowned Shamelon and urged the police to get to the root of the matter to serve as a deterrent to other NURTW members blinded by their status in the state.

He declared, “While I once trusted his loyalty, I was deeply bittered and disappointed that he could engage in such acts. I want to make it clear that all his actions are his own and do not represent the NURTW in any way.”
