A Philantrophist and Proprietor of the Charlie-Marie Group of Schools, Evangelist Adekunbi Akin-Taylor is an unrepentant lover cum promoter of sports with a profile of accomplishments. The Obafemi Awolowo University alumnus is currently at the African Nations Cup (Afcon) holding in Morrocco, clapping inside the Sportif de Fes in support of Nigeria’s Super Eagles who have secured a place in the round of 16 having recorded maximum nine points from three preliminary matches. In this interview with TheTabloid.net, she expresses her delight by Super Eagles journey thus far. Excerpts
Did you see Super Eagles performing the way they have done despite losing world cup chance?
For the world cup loss, it is unfortunate, but I love the Nigerian spirit. The past is gone. We embrace the future. And AFCON is our present future. We must go for the cup and that will be our consolation prize. I must say that beating Tunisia 3-2 against all odds was my greatest moment.
Are you missing home already?
Missing Home? With all the fun? Ermmm no, not for now. I am on a well-deserved break, and I am making the most of it before I get back to the grind.
How do you cope with weather and food?
I am used to the cold weather so it does not bother me. But the food is the big negative. I can’t wait to get back home to Abula, Ayamase, and Efo riro.
How did you arrive Morrocco?
Perhaps you want to know who brought me here. That is courtesy of an arrangement done by Farwill Consult Limited, a very well-organised, safe and considerate hospitality agency. I have been with them for some years. I rate them high on their services they render. I actually went to Kigali with them last year.
Where next after Morrocco?
That is going to be Singapore.
