For the sake of clarification and public guide, the Agura family of Idi-Osun Lane, Agura Compound, Ido, Ido Local Government of Oyo State, has reiterated its legal ownership of a land in the town.
In a statement issued by the family, they, in a clear term, asserted their exclusive ownership of the vast expanse of land located in the Igbosan area of the town.
Signed by Madam Taibat Asake Akinwunmi, Chief Tajudeen Akinola Agura, Alfa Saheed Olasupo Agura, and Hon. Adesina Salami-Olatoye Agura, the statement, clarified that the land stretches from the Ogunwende/Elesin/Baale streams and the Federal Road Safety Corps Office area to the Ogun River and the boundary with Eruwa.
The family also stressed that the land is not classified as stool land and is exclusively owned by them, citing court judgments affirming their claim.
The family, recognized as the only statutorily acknowledged ruling house in the entire Ido Kingdom, warned against unauthorized transactions involving the land. They stated that no customary tenant has the legal right to sell or transfer any part of the land without the express consent and approval of the family.
The family also cautioned prospective buyers to beware of individuals or groups they described as “disgruntled and ignorant customary tenants or families” who are attempting to contest the family’s ownership rights.
