Residents of an axis of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital this evening were struck by unusual apprehension when a blast of an explosion rented the space.
Bodija Estate, where the popular Ace Mall is situated and its environs was said to have been more affected by the incident.
TheTabloid.net gathered that some parts of the mall had been destroyed, thereby recording a number of casualties.
Reacting to the incident, Oyo State Government confirmed and gave an update with assurance that the government had taken over of the scene of the occurrence.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Dotun Oyelade, in a release he signed, said that security service chiefs including para military chiefs and Fire Operatives were in control of the situation.
Oyelade said, “His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, therefore, implores citizens to calm down and be rest assured that their interests are being looked after.”
