OAU class 89 Agric alumni reunite in Lagos

When they were parting last year after their successful 2024 reunion, all members of the Faculty of Agric Alumni Class of 95, were optimistic that they would all return to celebrate their 30 years after their graduation.

Between last year and last weekend, no death was recorded, hence the radiating joy on the faces of all of them at the Larfat Apartment, GRA, Ikeja, the capital of Lagos where they were gathered for the reunion between October 24 to October 26 with 41 enthusiastic members from home and abroad in attendance.

The first day of arrival featured the Barbecue Night during which members relished protein under a convival atmosphere, reliving their days on campus and post-graduation experiences.

The next day started with exercise and aerobics session that activated body and mind of members before the seminar session wherein resourceful persons, one after the other, took members through subjects that further enriched their knowledge.

Mr Niyi Adegbemiro, a Management and IT Consultant spoke on “Reinvention” while Dr Peter Adebola, MD Edge Field Stockbrokers spoke on “Investment opportunities for Retirees. “Care for your Eyes” was the topic that rounded off the session; it was handled by Dr Mildred Ulaikere, a Consultant Opthalmologist at the
Eye Foundation Hospital,
Lagos.

President of the class, Mr Emmanuel Ossai commended members for their genuine interest in the purposes for which the group was set up, also expressing satisfaction at the turn out and calling for more attendees in subsequent editions.

“It was a night of reconnecting with school mates after graduating 30 years ago from Obafemi Awolowo University. 2026 reunion beckons and it promises to be bigger and more exciting,” he assured.
